Cooking Information |
One of the highlights when camping is cooking your own food outdoors! You can certainly work up a healthy appetite. There are various pieces of equipment you can take on camping trips depending upon what you think you will be cooking and for how many!

Stoves
Backpackers will obviously want to go for stoves, which are compact, and lightweight, which will provide them with the necessary equipment to produce tasty, hot meals, easily and quickly. Various types of stoves use different types of fuels and many stoves are capable of burning more than one fuel type. Perhaps the easiest and safest stoves are those that use the butane/propane cartridges. These stoves can be lit without any priming or flame flare-up, such as you experience with the liquid-fuel stoves. For liquid-fuel stoves, you have to allow the flame to flare and heat the priming coil before the stove can be used with its nice, neat cooking flame. More.....

Gas Cookers
These cookers are great, can be packed into the car easily and different sizes of gas cylinders are widely available to purchase. Normally having 2 burners, this enables a substantial, tasty meal to be produced. There are many different varieties available to purchase, some with ‘added extras’ – windshields, toaster functions, side tables etc. More.....

Pots and Pans
You should think about the type of camping trips you will be going on and how many people you will be cooking for when buying pots and pans to cook with. There are many different kinds available to buy to suit differing needs. Cookware is available in stainless steel, aluminium alloy, cast iron, non-stick, and even titanium versions. A kettle is always a good purchase, as can provide an essential hot drink if the weather has turned nasty. More.....

Barbeques |
If you are fortunate enough to have some nice, sunny weather, there is nothing better than having a barbeque and eating outside. Growing more and more popular in the summer months in the garden, barbeques are a natural choice for camping trips. The smell is irresistible when the smoke heads down to your end of the campsite. There are many different types of equipment you could choose to take on camping trips ranging from disposable trays to portable barbeques, in many different shapes and sizes. If using a disposable tray, remember to rest the tray on some bricks, so it is not lying on grass.
