Excellent design. The huge vestibule with groundsheet allows one to get rid of wet clothing & muddy boots in it and then go into the bedroom dry and tidy. This increases comfort beyond words. I also own a geodesic tent, but after getting used to the Vango, the lack of a vestibule feels downright disgraceful. As both doors are rather vertical, they really make it possible to keep the rain out while entering and exiting. The porch groundsheet is a brilliant idea, whoever designed it deserves an award! My only complaint is the that the roof over one´s head while sleeping is really low and therefore it's easy to rub against it accidentally and so get your head wet. My next tent will definitely be a Vango Equinox (which seems to be exactly the same as the Gamma, only stronger and therefore classed as a 4-season tent). Pitching is relatively simple and intuitive (although not quick, in my experience). I have never managed to make the front door taut; I wonder if this is a design fault or my own stupidity,ut in either case it's no big deal. |
